Padula: A Journey Through Spirituality, Art, and History

The tour includes the Battistero di San Giovanni in Fonte, an extraordinary example of Early Christian architecture, built around a natural spring that still flows today; the Certosa di San Lorenzo, the largest Carthusian monastery in Italy; and the Convento di San Francesco, a testament to the Franciscan presence in the Vallo di Diano.
The close proximity of these three sites allows visitors to enjoy a rich and immersive experience spanning different historical periods, artistic styles, and religious traditions, offering a deeper understanding of the history of Padula and the Vallo di Diano.

  • Duration: approximately 4 hours (morning or afternoon)

Notes: In the event of adverse weather conditions, a visit to the Battistero di San Giovanni in Fonte may not be recommended, as the site is outdoors. The visit to the Convento di San Francesco is subject to availability, which will be verified by the guide, and requires advance booking.
The order of the visits may be adjusted according to the group's needs and the opening hours of the sites.
