Agricoltura Rascio
Agriturismo Agricoltura Rascio in San Mauro Cilento is the ideal way to experience first-hand all the outstanding qualities of the area. Passionately run by the Rascio family, this haven of biodiversity lies on the hills of historic Cilento, gently sloping down towards the sea of Acciaroli.
Hospitality is offered in a simple, welcoming and beautifully restored farmhouse, featuring spacious accommodations equipped with every comfort: individually controlled air conditioning, refrigerator, Wi-Fi and safes. From the rooms and outdoor patios, guests can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views stretching from the cultivated hills to the sea and, on the clearest days, all the way to the Amalfi Coast and Capri. It is a haven of complete relaxation surrounded by woods and olive groves, just 10–15 minutes from the Blue Flag beaches of Acciaroli and Mezzatorre.
The farm is at the heart of the revival of the Mela Uaitanedda, a rare and highly prized ancient local apple variety that was once at risk of extinction. Thanks to the dedication of the Rascio family, it has now been officially included in the national register of Traditional Agri-Food Products. During your stay, you can stroll through the farm's orchards, discover how these trees are propagated and preserved, and taste the apple both fresh, when in season, and in its processed forms.
The farm also boasts the area's highest quality certifications:
- Cilento PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil: produced from the centuries-old olive groves surrounding the property, cold-pressed and characterised by the fruity flavour typical of the Mediterranean Diet.
- Cilento White Fig PDO: grown and processed on the farm. In late summer, particularly during the famous local agricultural festival “Settembre ai Fichi”, guests can witness the traditional harvesting and processing stages.
The highlight of the culinary experience is breakfast, generous and entirely handmade by the family:
- Jams and homemade desserts: tarts, artisan cakes and ice cream made exclusively with fresh fruit from the farm's orchard and vegetable garden — figs, cherries and apples — together with homemade jams prepared without preservatives or additives.
- Aromatic herbs and wellbeing: the vegetable garden and farm trails are rich in aromatic herbs typical of the Mediterranean maquis. At the on-site Bottega Contadina, guests can taste and purchase olive oil, figs, herbal teas, oregano, local herbs and natural body-wellness products made from the farm's own crops.
